Description/Objectives
The CompEx Foundation qualification has been designed to provide an introduction into potentially explosive or flammable environments where gases, vapours and dust can form a hazardous atmosphere. This CompEx Unit provides basic training with certification for personnel who work on equipment for use in explosive atmospheres. The intention of the training is to provide companies a method to raise Hazardous Area awareness for their employees, and/or possibly to measure the suitability of a candidate to work towards competency assessment CompEx Ex01-04.
Upon completion of the CompEx ‘F’ course the student will be able to:
- Basic understanding of the directives & regulations related to Hazardous area.
- Basic awareness of IEC 60079 series of standards
- Understand the need for additional protections in Ex areas.
- Understand Ex signage and meaning of area classifications.
- Understand activities which are and are not allowed in Ex areas and on Ex equipment.
